105 saplings of various kinds were planted at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Park as part of the initiative of making Bandar Seri Begawan as a the City in the Garden, aside from from contributing to efforts in mitigating climate change. Held in conjunction with the 55th Anniversary of the Renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan, the tree planting activity was held on 2nd November morning.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman inaugurated the activity by planting three Bucida Green saplings. Also present were Members of the Legislative Council. Organised by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department in collaboration with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, the activity also included public area maintenance such as grass-cutting and cleaning works.
